Re: Gronenthals from New York, early 1800s the Gronenthal
brothers came from Prussia, which was then later called
Germany. As far as I know! the Gronenthals came from Prussia
Settled in New York, then to the Wisconsin area, west ward to
The Dakota's and Nebraska, then to Wyoming. Early occupations
were farming, carpentry, railroad which took them to Montana
to Spokane Wa, and then to Seattle. The Gronenthal that
went to Wyoming? was one of the first U.S territorial Marshals
of the Wyoming terrietory. Most sectors of the Gronenthals had
large familys. The key I have found out is to find all the brothers
of wilhelm and Gerhard Gronenthal, and there fathers and uncles.
I work out in the field most of the time, please fill free to write
me at 502 Minor Ave North, apt #11 Seattle Wa, 98109, I would
love to share information with other Gronenthals.
thank you, good luck to all Gronenthals
Please write, Skip Gronenthal saying
good bye and take care.

I believe my husbands GGGrandfather, Christian Gronenthal born 1/1837 in Bonn, near Cologne (Koeln) Germany was probably a brother to Wilhem Herman and Gerhardt. Christian and his wife, Helena Panzer, immigrated in 1869 and settled in Ashton, Dane Co, WI. Have you been able to go back any further on your family? Would love to share info. and see if we can piece these guys together.

Hi Michelle,
Just reading your old email from 2002 and think that we may have ancestors in common. The Christina married to John - is her maiden name Debach? Their son Valentine? Did he have a daughter Christina who married Anthony Lauer? I am looking for more children of John and Christina. Lets Talk!

Charlotte

Here is what my Dad has told me.

Dad's name - Harry William Gronenthal
His sister - Doris (Gronenthal) Conrad
Parents Valentine and Ella Gronenthal (don't know what her maiden name was).

I believe Valentine's Parents are named John and Christine. John had a brother named Valentine and named his child after his brother.

Hi Michelle,
This is your Aunt Colette. How are you? I was searching
ancestry and came across your posts. I also came across an obituary for Brian Gronenthal and am in shock because I never knew your dad had a son, Chris, who would be Victor's cousin.
Anyway, I am a paralegal and Victor graduated from West Point in 2005 and married the following month. He just returned from Iraq (where he was promoted to Second Lieutenant) and is stationed in Fort Wainwright in Alaska. I have not seen him in over a year. I will be going to Alaska in April. I can't wait to see him again.
He is scheduled to return to Iraq in October.
How many children do you have? Can you e-mail pics? How is Lisa? They did not mention her in the obituary. Do she and Denise have e-mails? I would like to contact them also.
I've missed and thought about you girls (now women!) over the years. I'm sorry I did not stay in touch. How is your mother?
I really look forward to hearing from you.
Love,
Aunt Colette

Hi how are you?
I just sent you an e-mail to the address you gave me.

Brian is Lisa's son who just passed on June 23rd. He was 16, skateboaring without a helmet and fell and hit his head. He was her only child and we miss him so very much. We just saw a photo of Victor last week. You must have submitted it to the newspaper. He looks the same and we were so glad to hear about him. We have not seen him since Grandma's funeral.
Talk to you soon,
Michelle Gronenthal Hickoff
