I am also doing guptill research.
I am as far back as a Henry M. Guptill
who was born in Vermont in 1824.
He moved to Western New York as a child.
He met and married his wife,
Adeline A Beebee (b. 8/30/1828 or 29) in Erie County, NY in 1849.
They had 6 children:
Geo. Guptill b. 1853 in NY d. 1869
Augustine or ava or eva E. Guptill b. 5/8/1855 in NY d.3/14/32
William (Willie) C. Guptill b. 1858 in NY d.?
Frank E. Guptill b. April 1858 in NY d. 4/19/45
Ada (Addie) L Guptill b 1867 *****in Iowa***** d ?
Annie (Anna) J. Guptill b. 1867 in Iowa (twin sister of Ada) d.?

Henry and Adeline moved to Iowa sometime in the 1860's
I have am married to Frank's great great grandson and live near Syracuse NY.
Do you know of the parentage or family of Henry M. Guptill?

sincerely,
Kristine guptill

Hello, I am an descendant of the Guptill family out of NY. I am researching the family history on the surname Guptill. Although I am just beginning. Would love to be invited to view and add to current research of this surname.

Thank you,
Marcy Gautreaux (Guptill)

Ian, Kris and whoever else is doing the Cornish, Maine Guptill's, please include me too on that list of people you were talking to Ian about Kris!? I found my husband's Great - Great Grandmother from town records. The only mention is an intention of marriage since part of the record book was destroyed in a fire that covered the years I was looking for. They however had the mention of the intention of marriage early enough that it was saved but nothing else until after the Civil War was mentioned about her husband who was killed. I'm looking for her in the hopes I find where she received a pension, went and remarried, or had other children that were female and we know how popular it was to record females in the older days. Any help would be greatly appreciated on where or how to find this person, Elizabeth E. Guptil! Thank you, Shelia Bachelder

Kris, I believe Kerry got a message from you a while back, and we have tried to respond, but the return e-mail address was no good. Can you e-mail me at ganguptill@aol.com to tell me how to contact you? Thanks, Patti
