My great grandfather came over from Alsais Loraine. I know orrginally his name was longer, but he dropped off part when he got the the USA, I know there was a T somewhere after the Jacober. I am looking for more on his family. I also know a brother and a sister came over to the USA. I know he had a sister in St. Helens, Oreogn at one time. any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

My great grandfather was born in Mulhouse, France. his sister came to the USA and settled in New Jersey and married someone connected to a large Storage and Transfer company. His other sister came to the USA and was inn New York for awhile, the to Oklahome City, and finally married the Columbia County, Oregon, undertaker. They lived in Saint Helens, Oregon. She married Thomas S. White. She went by Jo (probably short for Josephine). Before their deaths they had retired to Portland, Oregon. Can any one please help me?

My husband's great granmother was nanette jacober, alsace...she married a Matthias Burgmeyer and emigrated to Newark, NJ. They had three sons...Rene, Joseph and George. I've heard that they did have a relation "out west"...that's all I know...hope it helps.

Thank you so much, it has to be the same ones. Do you know anymore about the family in Alsace? Do you know what the rest of her maiden name was? Thank you in advance to any information you can provide. Becky

I just spoke to a cousin of my husband's who said she has "alot of documents" regarding this side of the family...she is going to mail them to me. Also she is going to contact two people who have done some research on this part of the family and put me in touch with them...when this happens...I'll let you know.

thank you so much, my grandfather did not talk a lot about his father's family, I do not think he really knew much about them and the info he had was stollen about 30-35 years ago. His younger sister knew very little, all I have is what he wrote in a binder, this is so great. I am sorry to ramble, but I am so pshyched. thank you very very much. Becky
