I am looking for anyone who may be related to William C. Kanz, Born July 22, 1892, in Mramorok, Banat, Austria-Hungry. His father was Christian Kanz. They moved to Mansfield, Ohio in the early 1900's.

My Great-grandfather was named John Kanz and was also from Austria Hungary. I don't know much more then that. I do know that he settled in Walla Walla, Wa. and married an Emma Petrick. Maybe there is some connection I would greatly appreciate any info.

My father was also William Christian Kanz. My Grand father was Wilhelm(William) Kanz who was a youngest brother to the Christian Kanz you mention in posting. Other brothers and sisters also born in Mramorach. Parents were Henrich and Elizabeth(nee Gutwein) Kanz. Because this branch of the Kanz family continued to name their sons after ancestors(Henrich, Wilhelm,Christian) it makes for some confusion , but also makes it easier to connect direct relatives. If you or any one else wants more info, please contact me. It appears that the sons of Henrich immigrated to the US and many relatives in Minnesota, Ohio and Washington.

I'm the grandaughter of Caroline (Kanz) Thompson, her father was William Kanz.

My grandfather was Peter Kanz, born 1889, came to this country at about age 9, settled in Minnesota. I think his father was Henry and he had two brothers, Henry and William. Could he be related to your family?

Hi Debra- My grandfather was William (Wilhelm) Kanz and his oldest daughter was Caroline. My father (William Christian Kanz) was the youngest of 13 children and by the time he was born, Caroline had already moved to the states(from Saskatchewan, Canada). They were brother and sister, yet never met in person and thats kind of amazing. Anyways , we had heard of Carolines passing as one of her sisters , Esther, who is still alive and well today, had told me that Caroline had passed away.
