Tom,

I just read your message on the net.
We are looking for my husband's grandfather
from MA. His name was Henry Thomas Noonan and was born around 1890. He married Ellen Harney and they had 5 children. Have you come across this name in your research.

Thanks for your help,
Dawn Noonan

Dear Tom,

My grandfather, Michael J. (possibly John)
Noonan emigrated from Ireland, date unknown. On 1895 Kansas State census shows came from Illinois to Kansas. He was in Kansas in 1884. Date of birth from 1837 to 1852. Always heard that he came to US with several brothers. Married Hanora Hart in 1892. He died in 1897.

Thank you for the information about Michael J. I have added the information to my notes in case of a later match. I don't have enough informaiton at this time to confirm a relationship. My great grandfather, James came to Boston around 1866 from County Mayo so your dates are close.

I was pleasantly surprised to see my great grandfather's name posted. Although I'm sure we are not talking about the same Michael J. Noonan. I have recently started researching. My Michael was from County Cork and came around 1865. Any info you could give me would be greatly appreciated. He was married to Nola Cecilia Chapman and resided in Clark County Indiana. Thanks!

Tom,
I wrote you earlier. We have reason to believe that Henry T. Noonan's parents were Michael and Mary Noonan from Ireland. Is this the same as yours? Thanks

My ancestor Michael Noonan was born about 1820 in county Mayo (possibly Ballaghadereen). He married Mary Green and they had at least two sons; Thomas Ambrose Noonan born about 1855 and James Noonan born Jan 1849. Both came to America, James in 1869 and settled in Clinton, Massachusetts. Hope this helps.

Hi,

This is my first time here.... My great Grandfather was Michael Harold Noonan and he was married to Mary Jane Buckley Noonan. They came from County Kerry or County Cork in the 1860's or 1880's and were living in Lee, Mass. My great Grandfather was in the marble quarry business - which took his life. They had 12 children. If this is the same family line I have some information but do not have it compiled on the computer yet.
