I would like to get in touch with any Schoenhofens out there, or anyone who knows anything about the family. All replies will be answered, any info is important. Thanks.

I am a descendant of Mathias Schoenhofen who died February 26, 1920 in Chicago, and Margaret Hansen who died April 26, 1908, in Chicago. Both from Germany. One of their children, Magaret married my great grandfather Joseph Wilkinson. These Schoenhofens were in Chicago, Illinois. I don't know if there is a connection to your family.

Hi Vicky: I am a descendent of Theodore Schoenhofen who immigrated to Belleville, IL with his mother and siblings from Zemmer, Germany which is just a short distance north of Trier, Germany. His father, Mathias Schoenhofen died in Zemmer in 1880 He was born 8 Nov 1836 in Zemmer.

Does your family go back to Zemmer also? Can you tie your family to Peter Schoenhofen who founded the Schoenhofen Brewery in Chicago? Two of my Schoenhofen uncles, Fred and Ted lived and died in the Chicago area.
