I am looking for Ties to Thomas Trevarrow b. 1815 in St Ives, Cornwall, England. He married Mary Nankervis and came to
Mineral Point WI(Mining town) in or abt 1860 where he shows up in the census. His daughter Catherine aka "Kate" married my ggg grandfather William Jeffery also from Cornwall, who came to Mineral Point, WI. Located in Iowa County, WI.
(Once a very big Lead mining town) Thomas was listed in the 1860 census as a dragman.

The outline at this point is sketchy. I could not make out the daughter of Thomas and Mary born in Cornwall who is listed
in the 1860 census. It looks like Vaue Trevarrow.
Any suggestions? Here is the line thus far.

1 Thomas Trevarrow
.. +Mary Nankervis
. 2 Elizabeth Trevarrow b: 1838
. 2 Vaue? Trevarrow b: 1843
. 2 Catherine Trevarrow b: January 1849 in Mineral Point, Iowa Co., WI
..... +William Henry Jeffery b: May 1842 in Cornwall, England m: October 15, 1868 in Mineral Point, Iowa Co., WI d: Bet. 1900 - 1910
.... 3 Jenny Jeffery

........ +Anna Mahtie Wilburg b: 1873 in Blanchardville, Jefferson Co., WI
.... 3 Frances Fanny Jeffery b: 1881 in Mineral Point, Iowa Co., WI
........ +Walter Harris
.... 3 Willa Mina Jeffery b: September 24, 1887 in Mineral Point, Iowa Co., WI d: March 25, 1964 in Delavan, Walworth Co., WI
........ +Louis Sylvester Sergent b: March 29, 1882 in Darien, Walworth Co., WI m: February 20, 1908 in Rockton , IL d: June 03, 1960 in Delavan, Walworth Co.,WI Father: Daniel Delos Sergeant Mother: Helen Roselthe Brown
. 2 John Walter? Trevarrow b: 1858 d. Bartlesville, OK
..... +Sarah Unknown
.... 3 Sarah Trevarrow
.... 3 John Trevarrow

Found this entry in Cornwall records off Ancestry.Com site,
Now John Travarrow was probably called Walter as we have him as brother to Kate Travarrow, and they called him Walter.
Was this his grandfather?

I am also looking for information on my family history. I am under the understanding that my ancestors also came from Cornwall England and settled in the area of Mineral Point. I am just starting my search and finding it very hard to track. I have been told that when the family came to the US the spelling of the name changed. That it was Trevarrow and is now Trevorrow. I now live in Milwaukee, WI.

I don't know if your Trevarrows are related or not. (could be a relative that came over later) I have that My Trevarrows were in Mineral Point as early as 1850, and they too were from St Ives. So Far All I have is the information I have posted, and that is a far cry from what I had(nothing). All I knew was Kate Trevarrow married my gg grandfather William Jeffery and they lived in Mineral Point and William was a Stone Mason, and the Trevarrow Family were related to Mining. Kates brother John was a mining Engineer. He later moved to Kansas, Nebraska and then Bartlesville , OK where he died. I thik his name was John Walter. Because a relative in a old letter I have keeps calling him Walter, and I know they were the same man.

I have seen the other Trevarrows that are located in the upper UP of MI and I am convinced they too are related, but as of now I have now solid proof. Thomas and Mary would be the first I have on any of them and they were from St Ives in said in a Census.

Hope this helps,

Penny

Hi Penny, I saw your posting of the marriage of Thomas Trevarrow to Mary Nankervis and Mary Nankervis is one of mine! She was the sister of my ggggrandfather, Thomas Nankervis and daughter of John and Jane Richards Nankervis, married Feb 1803, St. Ives.

In case you don't have it, Thomas Trevarrow and Mary Nankervis were married on 31, Dec, 1837. I'd love to hear from you regarding your research.

Sincerely,
Jan

Jan ~

Thank you so much for your lovely reply and all that information!! I have just began my research on Mary and just recently made that discovery on Mary Nankervis being Thomas Trevarrow's wife. I am afraid I am not far enough into the family research on the Nankervis's yet to recipricate with any information but I can give you their children, which is what I think I posted already....Please tell me about the Nankervis's though, I would very much like to hear of them. Did John and Thomas Nankervis come to America also? How many siblings were there... just Mary and Thomas? So many questions. It's like Christmas getting all this new found information! Can you tell me more about their parents? I thought I saw a John and Jane( Richards) Trevarrow marriage entry in the LDS Cornwall marriages index. I wondered if this was indeed her parents because I remember seeing Janes surname of Richards and I wondered....

I haven't been able to find where Mary and Thomas are buried...Maybe in Mineral Point, I am not certain.

Please let me know if I can supply you in return with anything. I have nothing on Mary though, I am afraid.

Hope to hear from you soon,

Penny
