My mother, Beatrice Carpenter (Nee Domingez) came to New York on May 15, 1946 on the ship the Thomas H. Barry. She was listed as a passenger on the Queen Mary, which arrived in New York on the 10th of May, 1946, but for some reason she did not come to the USA on that ship.

My grandfather's first wife, Doreen Stowe, and her daughter Patricia came to the US on the Queen Mary in April 1946. I haven't found any other information about the two of them, and the marriage broke up fairly soon after she arrived, so if anyone has any information or suggestions on how to find out more, please let me know! I'd appreciate it!

My mother and I came over also in April 1946, but we came on the Robert Barry. Are you sure it was he Queen Elizabeth? Sounds like the same set of circumstances though. Broke up shortly after arrival . So I was then adopted out. I found a picture of the women , some holding babies that arrived on the Barry. No names though. Let me know I I can be of any help. Sue.
