Am looking for any information regarding my grandfather's history (Theophilus Joseph Karp). All I know is that his father was Stanislaus Karp from Poland (Krakow?) and that he was a veterinarian there. His wife was named Valeria- am not sure of her last name. Some of my grandfather's sisters and brothers were Edward, Florence, Belle, Eugene. I think there may be a couple I left off the list. He married Marie Bonk from Ironwood, MI.
My mother is Muriel Dorothy Karp (Ross) and she had a brother, Donald Karp. The family is from Grand Rapids, MI.
Would especially like any info about the point of origin in Poland.

I have some info on Marie Bonk (1894-1976). Her Father was Joseph (1867-1910) and was my wife's Grandmother's Brother. Their parents were Thomas Bak/Bonk (1815-1904) and Julia Sromolska (1836-1921). Julia was the 2nd wife of Thomas. I have the location in Poland where Thomas and Julia were married and where Joseph was probably born which might be a clue to where your Grandfather may have also come from.
I also have additional info if you are interested. Please advise.

Hello-
I believe you have info about my Grandma Karp- Marie Bonk- originally from Ironwood, Mi. The Bonks you named I recognize as her parents name. Sure would like to see what info you have- my mother- Muriel D. Karp (Ross)- has begun to express some interest in learning more about where her parents may have come from since my Dad died about 2 months ago.
My email is in the process of being changed, but you can try sending me an e-mail at crossbaumann@aol.com.
If you are unsuccessful, I will check back on this board soon.
Thanks very much!

Hi Sandy,
There is no Bonk family tree that I am aware of. All my data is from personal research and I have it on my FTM. My wife's grandmother was Josephine Bonk, Joseph's sister, and her youngest daughter is still living and of sound mind at age 99.
I would be happy to e-mail you my files if you would send me your email address. You can phone it to me if you don't want to send it by return message. My phone number is 651-429-2793.

Hi Jack,
That's exciting that you have information about my Grandmother's family. She never spoke of her parents, other than to say her father died, but my Mom always spoke well of her "Gramma Rose". My email is my name at gmail.com. I've always wanted to go to Ironwood, MI and see it, is that where the Bonk family was from?
Thanks, Sandy
