Heather, It sounds as if we may be connected. I show that my GGFather was William Rogers, b. 1767, Halifax Co., NC; d. Jun. 1850, Anderson, SC; m. 1789, Halifax Co., NC to Sarah Elizabeth DUCKWORTH, b. 1765, Halifax Co., NC; d. 1845, Anderson Co., SC.
I have no other info regarding the Duckworth family, at this time. Any that you may have that relates, I would appreciate.
Thanks, Dave Melton, USN(Ret), Jacksonville, FL "redwine@fdn.com"

Dave,
I was excited to read your note, as I haven't found ANYONE out there w/related info on this line. However, while reviewing your info, I can't see a straight line connection at this time. Some of the names sound the same...BUT-- I need a Sarah Ro(d)gers who married a William Duckworth and you have a Sarah DUCKWORTH married to a William Rogers!! *grin* Plus my Sarah was born about 1829 and that's a bit late compared to yours. Did your William and Sarah have a daughter OR granddaughter named Sarah Rogers born in SC?

I have NO info on the Ro(d)gers' at this time. In fact, my gfather told us his gmother's name was Ann Ro(d)gers---but the census clearly makes it Sarah so I'm hoping for a middle name connection somewhere. Thanks for your reply, I will keep you in mind if I find any Rogers info that connects and I hope you will do the same. :)

Well, looks like a probable dead end, as far as that link goes. My William Rogers & Sarah Elizabeth appear to have had 11 children: Larkin, Martha, Mary "Polly", Carolyn, John "Jack", William W., Elizabeth, Humphrey, Jeremiah W., Benjamin, & Joseph T.
Larkin Rogers, b. 1810, in Anderson, S.C., d. 1862 (Place unknown~in the Civil War), who is in my direct line (GGrandfather) was married to Martha "Patsy" Rogers, b. 10 Dec., 1818, in N.C., m. to Larkin, in 1834, in Anderson, S.C., d. 8 Mar., 1896, in Anderson, S.C., had 12 children. Nr. 8 was Sarah E. Rogers, b. 12 Feb. 1837, d. 8 Jun. 1913.
I know that doesn't match what you have -- but, you can never tell, at first glance, when it comes to genealogy. Ha. Ha.
Well, Good luck. I'll keep the info that I have of yours handy -- so, I can stay in touch, in case I run into anything that I think might help. Please, if you see any possible connections to my line -- let me know.
Thanks,
Dave Melton "redwine@fdn.com"
