I was thinking it was around #150 but the numbers didn't go that high. You are looking somewhere around 19th & Market. In the meantime I found this really nice site about Miss Mattie aka Martha Ready...

I gathered several things about Mattie Silks.
I did so because I am a "Silks" and was LOL thinking she might be related.
If you want copies of all of it then let me know and i will send them to you.

Anybody still around that has any information on Mattie and her niece Theresa? Theresa married my great Uncle and I am trying to get more data on her. Thanks

Theresa wasnt her niece....she was believed to be her step grandaughter. I am assuming James Aaron Johnson was your great uncle...
According to my records after they married they moved to Selah, Yakima, WA and she died in Goldendale, Klickitat, WA though I dont know the date of her death other than it was after 1930.
I know quite a bit about Mattie. Theresa was born Jan 1890.
Do you know if they had any children?

Hello and thanks very much for your reply!

Yes, James Aaron was my great Uncle. If you are familiar with Find a grave, you can see his and Theresa's sites, along with Mattie's, by following the links: Find A Grave Memorial# 62817366. Theresa's obit is on her site with all associated info.
You believe that Theresa is Matties srep granddaughter? Do you know how? Is that via Cort?
Sadly, Jim and Theesa had no offspring at all. They are buried side by side in Goldendale, WA.
I've tracked Mattie back to her birth in Pennsylvania to Henry Nimon and his first wife. Mattie is listed in 1880 with Henry Nimon in Indiana, but she has the name Martha Silks then and she also has Benjamin Silks with her, presumably. Henry lists Benjamin as a "nephew"? Know anything about that? Also, her first hubby Casey Silks, what do you know of him?
Have you done anything with Cort's genealogy? I am fascinated with them...

Thanks very much!
