1880 Census - Lee's Township, Williamsburg County, South Carolina, in about 1908 moved into Florence County, South Carolina. Florence County began in 1888, derived from parts of Marion, Darlington, Sumter, Williamsburg Districts. But Scranton Town/Lee's Township didn't enter Florence County until almost 20 years later. Lake City of Lake Township and Scranton of Lee's Township and Coward of Lynch Township were holding out to form their own county, but eventually lost their bid for a county seat to be placed in the town of Lake City and these area's entered Florence County.
