Surnames: Feeney, Feeny
I came across http://www.rootsweb.com/~wioconto/feeney.htm but the email for the author no longer works. Does anyone have more information on Peter Feeney or know how to contact James Doran?

The reason I ask is that I have a Peter Feeney on my tree from Owenbeg, Co. Sligo, Ireland that I'm told went to America but I have no further information.

I have come to a road block on Peter Feeney who married
Mary Walsh/Welch. He lived in Oconto WI when hit by a train.
He died days later but unable to locate death certificate
to find place in Ireland where born or parents. Have a request in to the Catholic Dioces in Green Bay. It has been
several months but they said it would be quite a while before I Would hear. Who are your Peter's parents and is his
name only Peter or does he have a middle/first name? Would
love to know more about my Feeneys.

The Peter Feeney in my tree had an older brother James Feeney, parents were James and a woman with a maiden name that sounded like Neary who was from Gleneaskey. He would have been born in Owenbeg, Co. Sligo.

So strange, I have a Peter Feeney 1866-1930 married to a Mary Walsh, but he lived in St. Paul, MN, and was not it by a train. His nephew Patrick Feeney died of an accident working on the railroad in March 1903 in Cloquet, MN.

They were Spiddal, County Galway people.

I have also ran across that couple and thought that might
be a son. My greatx2 grandfather probably arrived Dec 1848
on the Sheridan. Some of his children did move to Minn. but
with the elders gone it is hard to find the links. My dad's
sister died a few years ago and she didn't even know how to
spell Feeney. My Feeneys and Ratchfords are buried in Oconto and the church records have been sent to Green Bay.
I have requested any information regarding their parents but have not received an answer. Remember Dad saying his
mother's ancestors were from Cork but think it was Galway or
Clare. My dad died 1968 and I should have made tapes.
