Hi

I am sorry we do not list anyone in our DAR Patriot Index named Richard Rose. This does not mean he did not have the service you mention. It only means no woman has joined the DAR using his service as proof she could become a member.

If we can look up another ancestor for you let us know.

Sincerely
Gail Terry

With this much information available, I'd go to the National Archives site and see if his service record could be ordered. In addition, I'd try to see if he had a pension file since he lived so long.

He is listed in the Revolutionary War Records: Virginia on this site.

www.fold3.com shows his pension file and last payment voucher on that pension so I'd subscribe if I were you even if it is only for a month or two. It is a lot cheaper than ordering the pension file. I believe you will have to download each page individually.

It would be a wonderful thing to get another patriot into the DAR database.
