1. What is name of sixth cousin?
From the information offered there most certainly is a link. Sadly, however, I do NOT have much data on the Estabrook family. What I have generally agrees with yours.
J.R. ESTABROOK (not I.R.?) b. circa 1816 or earlier married an ABIGAIL (nee unknown). They had in my record ONE daughter named Laura Jane Estabrook b. Jul 1839 d. 29 Oct 1909 m. Israel Pliney BLOOD b. Jul 1840 on 4 Jul 1866 at Portage, Columbia, WI. Israel was in civil war and thereafter disabled most of the rest of his life. They had children: Marcus D, Harvey G, Louisa A, George Monroe, Lilly Mabel Adelia, Leanna M, and Mary. I do believe that Laura Jane was married to MCDonald, another civil war apparant casualty ... where-upon Israel married the widow upon return from the war. Israel had brothers Calvin and Alvin also in the civil war. Both I believe stayed pretty much in the Columbia County area the rest of their lives.
Israel went to Dunn and later Barron County and lastly died in the Soldier's Home in Minnesota.
Israel's other siblings were: H. Dana, Mary, Loren, Lafayette, J. Monroe and Phoebe Loraine BLOOD (my Great Grandmother). She married Horace McKendry BARDEN. Parents of Israel are Ephraim B. BLOOD (adopted from name HUBBARD) AND Caroline LILLIE.
William ESTABROOK could very well be a brother to Laura Jane --no doubt. Any more siblings? Your I.R. 68 and Abigail 64 most likely are one and the same. No info on the rest of your names. Please keep in touch.

Dear Don,

I had a sixth cousin tell me my grt. grt. grt. grandfather William Estabrook had a sister named Laura J. McDonald Blood that lived in Dunn County, Wisconsin at the time of Williams death, who died on June 12, 1897 at Waupaca County, Wisconsin at the Kings Veterans home. He served in the Civil war as Hospital Orderly. William and his wife lived in Columbia County, Wisconsin until around 1881-1890. So it looks as if we are distiant cousins mabey nineth cousins or so. Could you answer a question if you can? I have some Estabrooks listed in Portage, Columbia County, Wisconsin but I am unsure about some things mabey you can help. I have a Estabrook family that I copied off the 4th ward 1870 list but I do not know if I copied it right do these names sound right I.R. age 68; Abigail age 64;Iossah age 33; Sarah age 8 and Theador age 10 have you seen this is it write or did I make a mistake when I coppied them down?

Sincerly,

Laura

Don,

First let me tell you my sixth cousins first name is Phyllis our line runs like this:

William and Cynthia Jane (Crandall) Estabrook

b. 1815 B. 1832 both in New york m. 1852 in N.Y.
Children: Polly b. 1852; Warren b. 1854; Malinda b. 1856; Alvah D., Wheelock, George b. 1862; Abbey Jane b. 1869; Sarah

Warren and Mary (Moungey) Estabrook

b. Sept. 12, 1854 b. August 12, 1861

Children: 1. William Warren Harrison

b. January 6, 1881 in Chetek, Barron Co., Wisconsin

2. Isabell Jane

b. October 2, 1882 Chetek, Barron Co., Wisconsin
I am off William W.H. Estabrooks line and Phyllis is off Isabell Jane (Estabrook) Crawelys line.
Phyllis got the information that Laura J. Estabrook was Williams sister when she looked at his civil war records it said that Laura helped his wife Cynthia to get his pension when he died in 1897 at the Kings Veteran Home at Waupaca County, Wisconsin. You would want to put Jonathan R. Estabrook birth earlier than 1816 because I found a Johnathan Estabrook in either Constable or Malone, Franklin county,New York that married an Abigail Wheat around that time and she was from New Hampshire I do not have the information on hand at the moment but when I come accross it I will write another message. by the way my name is Lisa.
Phyllis and I still have roots in Columbia County although we no longer live there our self.

Sincerly,

laura

What I found on the 1850 New York Census was that Jonathan R. Estabrook and Abigail resided in Duane, Franklin County, and lists there children as: William b.1815, Emeline b. abt. 1832, Laura J. b. abt. 1839, Anoilusia b. abt. 1841. Jonathan and Abigail where born in New Hampshire and at this time Jonathan was age 58 and Abigail was age 55 which would mean they were born around 1792 and 1795. It is said by some other sources that Joel, Samuel, were brothers to Jonathan R. and it was told to me that Samuel and Jonathan married two Wheat sisters. According to John Austin Samuel married Ruth Wheat who was b.April 21, 1791 in Hollis, New Hampshire and married Samuel in Groton, Hew Hampshire in 1814. Jonathan married Abigail who was born on Aril 3, 1795 in Groton, New Hampshire and married Jonathan in Malone, Franklin County, New York. As for Phyllis and I we are six cousins I am the great grandaughter of William Warren Harrison Estabrook and Phyllis is the great grandaughter of his sister Isabell Jane (Estabrook) Crawley and they lived in Columbia County, Wisconsin. I sign on as Laura but my name is Lisa. I am sorry I can not e-mail you write now but some problems have arose that I can not e-mail out but can get e-mail in so I will keep in touch on this forum. Until next time Laura.
