My line ended up in a little town on the va ky border called Keokee. They lived there and died there. My g grandmother's name was cordely campbell. she also came out of carter county by way of NC.

I might have some kin of yours?

Margie Margaret Strickland b. 5/26/1840 Ga daughter of
Larkin & Margaret Stewart Stricland. Larkin born 5/1/1799
Abbeville SC, son of Julius & Nancy __ Strickland.
Margie married Martin Van Buren Hudson .

Terie Neville Strickland b. 5/2/1897 Alpine, Talladega Co, Ala & daughter of William Thomas 'Buck' Strickland and wife, Loraine Davis, 'Buck' was born 11/1/1851 Macon Co GA son of thomas William Strickland & Rebecca Archer.

There were Strickland in Heard Co, or North Troup Co GA that may have been married in with my Arnett line from Edmund Green Arnett descendants. I think her name was Anne Strickland. I will look more ! Would Libertyhill, or Libertyville mean anything with your Strickland info? I can go there but cannot recall the relation to my Arnetts? But, I think she was Ann(e) Arnett Strickland, or Ann Strickland Arnett ??

~Walter

My name is James Daniel Arnett Jr. (Danny)

I have a little bit of information that may be of interest to you. My father was James Daniel Arnett, my grandfather was James Dewey Arnett. My grandfather Dewey died in Blakely, Early County, GA, 1952 at the age of 42 from complications from hernia surgery. I have the following information taken from his obituary: He was survived by 3 brothers, W.I., Jack, and Elbert Jr., all of Broadway, NC. 4 Sisters, Mrs. Arthur Strickland of Eufala, AL, Mrs. Carlos Benefield of Ozark AL, Mrs. Emmett Edgars of Broadway, NC, and Mrs. Nodie Bass of Ft. Meade, FL. According to information I found Mrs. Carlos Benefield is Dessie/Destie Arnett.

From the 1910 Census of Coffee County, AL, Daniel and Della Arnett had the following children as of 1910:
Walter, born about 1900
Noah, born about 1902
Isaac, born about 1904
Collier, born about 1906
Lura, born about 1907
Dewey, born 1/18/10
Sarah Arnett was living with them, she was 81 and blind. I think she was Dewey's grandmother, she had been married to William Arnett.

Dewey Arnett built furniture and sold it in Union Springs, AL, and later Blakely, GA. A relative I have communicated with interviewed his grandfather and said that Daniel and possibly his parents graves were in Rocky Head Cemetery in Coffee County, and that Dewey's brother Noah Arnett lived in Tabernacle, AL, south of the cemetery.

I don't have any records of the Arnetts after that. i apologize for the long post, but I am really excited to find this website and thread.

I would appreciate any information you have. I have been looking off and on for information for years, and found very little until today. I haven't joined ancestry.com, but it looks like I will need to! My email is tracker270@yahoo.com, please email me with any information you have.

Thanks
Danny
