Hennington DNA Project

Posted: 13 May 2010 3:30PM GMT
Classification: Query
Surnames: Hennington
Does anyone know if a Hennington DNA Project exists? If not, I'd like to invite anyone interested to join the Harrington/Herrington/Arrington DNA Project or to start your own project at Family Tree DNA. Many times, I found my Harrington ancestors were often spelled (or misspelled) Hennington. Please see below for more information:

The Harrington DNA Project is currently recruiting new members in an effort to help us better understand the origins of the surname and the relationships of the various Harrington/Herrington/Arrington/etc. lines.

If you, or a male Harrington of your line, may be interested in testing, please check out our project homepages at the following links:

Click on ‘Y-Results’ at the top of the page on the link below to access the results for our various lineages:

To join the project, follow the link below:

http://www.familytreedna.com/public/harrington/default.aspx

To join, you would need a male of your line or a related (or potentially related) line who has the Harrington/Herrington/Arrington or related surname. If you order through the surname project, the price is discounted from the normal rate.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you.

To the Hennington group;
I was really pleased to see this post from Charles on the Hennington DNA Group. As all of you know the Hennington’s can be a difficult surname to research, not from lack of desire – but from lack of records. I know I speak for this small group in saying how much it would be appreciated if a male member would step up to the plate and test (a simple mouth swab) – plus the DNA group has a holiday special at this time, so the cost is affordable. Please consider
this request and help all of us with the ongoing Hennington work.
One final thought – if you’re worried about security of your test, my husband Larry tested with this company five years ago, and there have been no security issues whatsoever. It is safe and secure.

Thanks to Charles and everyone who continues to piece together our family.
