We had Krumm member's that went out to Iowa according to family stories. However nobody at this time seems to know exactly WHO it was that went out there!
We do have a John Krumm that was possibly born between 1835-1848 that I have lost track of. I have no idea who he married or what happened to him. His parents were Friedrich and Barbara (Finnikel) KRUMM. They lived here in Franklin Co., OH. However I can't seem to find death information on them. I wonder if this is the family that went to Iowa....

Hi! In starting a search for our Ancestry, I came across your message. When I was a little girl, we used to go to Paulina, Iowa for our POTAS Family reunions, and I do remember that somewhere in our Tree, there is the Krumm Family. Do you know that or any other informaton? My parents, Roy and Virgie Potas, are now deceased, but were very avid Family History buffs--I would love to know more!!! Dianne Potas Marks

My great aunt, Sophia Krumm of Paullina, married a Potas. I'm trying to trace that branch of the Krumm's.
John Henry Fred Krumm
Born Dec. 15, 1850 Germany
Died May 20, 1924 Iowa

I believe his father was John Krumm of Mecklenburg who married Caroline Freil. Do you have any of that information?

Thanks

Yes, Johann Heinrich Friedrich Krumm was my great grandfather, and since that was posted in 2005 (?) I've received his entire tree. Who are you and who is your grandmother? We must be related. I'm Linda Linneweh Bidasio. My grandmother was Elizabeth Sass Krumm. William Carl Potas married my great grandmother's sister, but I have no information for him other than he married Sophia Johanna Krumm. I would love to add more to my tree.

Johann Is my great-great grandfather, his son Louis and wife Mary Dreier my great grandparents, both died long before I was born. Their son John married Fern Ellis Krumm and their daughter Verla is my mother. Louis founded the town of Chester, SD. Do you have info on this? there are some interesting stories about it. My Mom is still alive and I will ask her about the Potas's. We used to go to Postville to visit some of the relatives there. Also I found Johann's father had the same name but so far haven't found more there. My email is lexmac@siouxvalley.net if you would want to send me your address and I could mail you somne copies of my information to match against your. This is exciting!!

Your great grandfather was born in 1883 in Clayton (South Dakota). He was the first of several children. William Carl Potas in my tree was born in South Dakota in 1881. I don't think they had the same parents. But it could be your great great grandfather who was John Potas and was born in Germany in 1850 had a brother, who is the father of the William Carl Potas in my family. Confusing! I'll try to dig a little more.

Linda, do you have any idea where the marriage of Mildred Bowles and Walter John Potas took place?
May I forward your entire posting to the Bowles list? There may be several members there who will want to see it.
Best wishes,
Linne Bowles Gravestock
