I need help with info on Sarah Elizabeth Tarter's parents. She married George Washington Dudley 17 Dec 1872 in Adair County, KY. She is the only Tarter I have any info on.

But, I do have photos of her.

Plus, there is a Tarters Chapel Church and Cemetery in Adair County, KY. The cemetery and original church were on my grandfather's farm, and I attended church there as a small child. There are (of course) Tarters buried there. If anyone knows for sure they have a relative buried there, or if they can give me names and dates I can check for them, and would make photos and send them e-mail.

If anyone can help me, or I can help them, please, e-mail me at cym.jones@gte.net.

I have just begun looking for my grandfather's ancestors. He was James Monte Tarter, and I think he was from Russellville, KY. However, he married Maude Elle Holt of Adair Co., which I have visited. I am interested in any Tarter family information from Adair County. Thanks!

Johnnie,
Please, send me your e-mail so I can send you what I have so far on the Tarter Family. George Washington Dudley married Sarah Elizabeth Tarter. I have found that her parents are Shelby Mary Ann (Retherford)Tarter. If you don't mind to, please, send me what info you have from yourself up to as far as you've got. Then I'll do all I can to fill in the blanks. I've tried working on all sides of my family at once, which makes slow progress on all of them. If we work together, though, it can help both of us. I have a copy of Shelby Mary Ann Tarter's marriage bond, which I'll e-mail you a copy of -as soon as I get my scanner repaired.
My e-mail is: cym.jones@gte.net. I hope to hear from you again soon.

A distance cousin,
Cymblene Janes-Jones

Hi I am the GGGranddaughter of Powers Tarter, I am like every one else, looking for the parents of Powers Tarter. I do believe there is a link between Powers and Shelby. Possible brothers at any rate close kinship. Thus Shelby fits into my family tree, if nothing else as endentured children. If you dont mind, I would like to share information. I am also out of a skinner at the moment, but will have one back soon. If you want to E-Mail At Robinbc44@aol.com I will respond we can exchange Idea and information. I come from the Kellis Matison Tarter line. Please let me know if your interested. Think you. Robin.

I just read your E-mail, from 2000. Stating James Monte Tarter is your GGGrandfather. I am sure you have learned a lot sence then, but I do have a lot of internet information on him. Sence you state, you have visted with Maud Elle, I feel sure you will know where they are buried. Would you please share this with me.
Thank you
Carol
