I have very little information on my father Anthony Denis Hall's parents. My father was born in Blackpool England in 1951.. My Family Tree is public.. I'm hoping someone out there has the missing pieces

Your next step should be to order a copy of the 1948 marriage certificate, this will give the ages of each party , as well as their father's name... which should give you enough information to order birth certifcates for each and gradually step back generation by generation.

Certificates you can order online
https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/default.asp

It just takes 5 working days for them to have it ready to send out.
My experience (living in Holland: it takes them a very long time to get it to you (if ever), much longer than other mail from England.
I recently heard from someone in Italy that orders from the local registry office where the event took place are received far quicker.
For Blackpool that would be https://selfservice.blackpool.gov.uk/ebf/forms/registrars/
Costs slightly more.
For Fylde (might need that at a later stage)
http://www.secure1.gov-certificates.co.uk/services/

While waiting for that certificate you can look further on freebmd or ancestry for births, marriage, deaths that might match what you already know or think likely.
Like the possible birth for Denis H Hall, Fylde 1923, if it matches his age on the marriage certficate, his mother's name was Seddon. Easy on freebmd to find a Hall-Seddon marriage in the area.
By that time the lancashirebmd website comes in handy, often giving slightly more information, like where a marriage actually took place:

No cure no pay? I'll hire you :-)

One detail: the SEDDON-HALL marriage. Fylde on the GRO index. Blackpool, Holy Trinity, South Shore (Registers at Blackpool)on Lancashirebmd.
I suppose if you ordered the cert from the GRO Fylde should be filled in, but what happens if you just follow the GRO index and order it from Fylde?
I haven't seen a discrepancy like that before.

Blackpool registration district only commenced in 1936. Prior to that it was included in the Fylde registration district.

Thanks! It made me have another look.

To Melissa:
The Blackpool link for certificates should be the right one:

"We also hold records for some other parts of the Fylde Coast:
We have records for births and deaths which took place between 1837 and 1899 in Fleetwood, Poulton-Le-Fylde and Thornton-Cleveleys as well as Blackpool
All Fylde Coast Register Office marriages from 1837 to 1936
Marriages in Fylde Coast churches (other than Church of England) from 1837 to 1898 and
Marriages in some Fylde Coast churches (other than Church of England) from 1899 to 1936.

If you would like more information about this or you are in doubt about where an event took place, please ring 01253 477177 for help.
It may help your application for family history certificates if you look first at www.lancashirebmd.org.uk to find a reference for the event and add the information to your online application in the box marked Lancashire BMD."
