I'm sorry, I don't. Most of my Miller records are earlier than that for Fairfield County -- the early 1800's. If you find his grandparents then we may be able to match them up with a Miller family.

Gary,
My Millers are: John Miller married to Margaret Bretz, the daughter of John Bretz & Christina. The Bretz family came to Fairfield Co, OH about 1805. John & Margaret Miller came to Ohio with them.
John & Margaret had a son, Joseph S. Miller about 1801 in PA. This Joseph married Margaret Parkison, the daughter of John Parkison & Sarah Miller in Perry Co, Ohio in 1825. After raising their family in Ohio, this family moved to Effingham Co, IL where Joseph died in 1859.
I am looking for any information that you might have on John Miller, married to Margaret Bretz.

Had known sons William (1801-1847) first wife Esther Myers(1802-1836)and 2nd wife Hannah ??(1802--?) Son John Miller 1805-1856)Wife Mary Brant. I can not trace Williams two daughters by Hannah. Catherine b.1841 married Henry Herring in 1859. Roseannah b.1846, lived with Solomon Alspaugh family 1860. Hannah may have died. William's son St Clair died 1854 age 12. Henry Alspach was guardian to Caroline, St. Clair and Rosannah when William died in 1847 but Hannah was still alive and living with the children in 1850.
Thanks, Mary

For some reason I don't think I received this e-mail at the time. But, yes, I have quite a bit on that particular family as I believed for some time that they were related to my line (they may yet be). John Miller was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania February 19, 1777 and died in Fairfield County, Ohio February 8, 1856. I have land records and other details. The children you mention below were from his first wife, Catharine. He had several more children by his 2nd wife Mary Magdelena. please e-mail me directly at gary@millerfamilyhistory.com

Thank you,

Gary Miller

Hi Jerry,

I searched HeritageQuest Online for the 1820 U.S. Census for Fairfield County, Ohio. and there is only one Miller family listed for Violet Township in that year (John Miller) -

His family consisted of 3 males aged 0-16, 1 male aged 10-16, 1 male aged 26-45, 3 females aged 0-16, 1 female aged 10-16, and 1 female aged 26-45. I don't know if this is the right family for Cyrene Miller of Pickerington, but it seems to be the most likely. According to you original posting, Cyrene would have been about 7 years old in 1820, so this John might be her father.

Good luck in your search!
