Looking for information regarding Eleanor Mudd who married Cornelius Wildman and had a son, James, in 1846. She is my direct connection to Dr. Samuel A Mudd, but I am not sure if they were siblings or exactly how they were related. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi!!! Hope you have had luck in your search for Eleanor Mudd Wildman.... I have an Ann Elizabeth Ellen Mudd who married Cornelius Greenfield Wildman on 11 Nov 1837 in Prince George Co MD. Her parents were Benjamin Notley Mudd and Elizabeth Gardiner. They were married 6 Sep 1814 in Prince George Co, MD. The "Mudd Familly of the United States" by Dr. Richard D. Mudd (Ed.1) states that the Wildman's had 7 children....one stated is Joseph. According to the Mudd Book the relationship between your Eleanor (Ellen) and Dr. Sam Mudd is distant cousins. If you would like copies of the book where Eleanor is located I'd be happy to send them to you, along with the lineage of Sam Mudd, M.D. Let me know!!!

Sorry so long in replying to your most generous offer of information, but I was overseas on vacation and catching up with life afterward has been less than fun. I would greatly appreciate anything you would care to share on the Mudd's, as I have very little to go on. I do have the Wildman info fairly complete, however. How amazing to see my ancestors' names and information somewhere other than on my Family Tree Maker! It really is a small world!
