What time period are you referring to since in the early 1880's the area was known as the MS Territory also known as Wayne/Washington county.

Some of my family members still live in the area, Frankville that is right next door to Blandon Springs. I know that a lot of Powes still reside in the area. What are the names of the Powes that you are looking for? I'm trying to trace Collins children viola and ardella. My Gt. gd mother Roda Powe married William David Elliott in MS and they had a son William Henry my gd. father. I found Collins married to Amanda in the 1870's census living woth his two daughters and mother Clarrissa. Roda had another brother King who I haven't found since the state 1866 census of MS nor her sister Ira or Inda can't quite make out the writing. Viola, Collins youngest daughter married Willie Stargent whose son Alfonso married Mary Jackson. Does any of these names sound familiar to you? you can email me any time at rwi2279211@aol.com
