Pauline,

I don't have these Sainsbury's in my tree, but do have Sainsbury connections in Lavington. 2 of my 5xGreat Grandmothers were Sainsbury's, marrying in approx 1760's. Have you managed to get back that far yet?

Anthony

I know there are a lot of Sainsbury families. I have got back to my Great Great Grandfather, John Sainsbury b 1814 married Eliza (possibly Pearce or Marchment - not sure) in about 1820. They married in the Warminster District. I am not sure if he had any brothers or sisters. I am trying to go back to his parents but had no success. My Grandfather's Aunt was a Caroline Sainsbury (b 1856) who was the daughter of the abnove John and Eliza. Can you help further?

I can't help with your family, as I haven't brought my Sainsbury's forward. Details for me are a) William Rumble married Ann Sainsbury 4 Nov 1742, and b) William Brown married Jane Sainsbury 24 Jul 1765. I don't know as yet who the parents to the Ann and Jane are, so am unable to take this any further until I have confirmed this.

An Uncle of my Nan also married a Sainsbury in 1892, he Frederick Palmer, she Annie Sainsbury. I don't have the certificate, so don't know who her parents are either, I'm afraid.

Anthony.

Antony,

Thanks for the information. Interestingly my Grandfather's cousin was a William Palmer born about 1875 he was the son of Caroline Sainsbury who married a Palmer (don't know his first name) that I told you about yesterday.

Keep searching and please let me know if you come up with anything more I seem to be stuck on 1814!!

I have sainsbury from Lavington in my family line. but they don't show up until about 1723. Some of their names are Jane, Thomas, Elizabeth, William, Francis and Mary. They are all siblings. I think their fathers name is Thomas Sainsbury.

Jane Sainsbury married John Blake on November 10 1712 in Market Lavington.

Any more information or connections would be appreciated.
