Does anyone have access to the 1930 census for California? I am looking for a Joseph Newbury who I beleive was living there then, and I don't know what county. Thanks for any help

Joseph Newbury, age 68 in 1930, resided in Pasadena, Los Angeles County, with his wife, Ruth (age 57), stepdaughter, Freda (age 29) and a border named Joseph Dahl. They immigrated to this country in 1914. Jospeh was from Newfoundland, but his parents were from England. Ruth and Freda were from England. Joseph worked as a laborer, Freda, and the border were real esteate sales people.

how do you know this about Joseph Newbury????? This is VERY important to me, as I beleive that this is my great grandfather, in fact I am pretty definate!!!!!!!!! Please write me back, you don't know how excited I am!!! thanks kindly, liz

I don't know of this person; I just saw your request for a census lookup and looked it up for you. This was the only person by the name of Joseph Newbury listed in California on the 1930 census.

well, thank you so very much!!! It has answered a lot of questions for me and my family! Just the fact that it lists him coming from Newfoundland and that his parents came from england, matches exactly with our family history! So thank you for your kind generosity, it has made my day!
