Superintendent of Police, P.W., 1872; during the Perak war commanded an expedition across the country in pursuit of Sultan Ismail; called to the bar of the Middle Temple 1880; Stipendiary Magistrate, B. Guiana, 1883; Sheriff of Essequibo, 1884; Sheriff of Berbice, 1889; Stipendiary Magistrate,east and west bank, Berbice, 1892; Puisne Judge, 1st Oct., 1900; now senior Puisne Judge.

Here are the entries you requested. Please excuse the delay.

DeWEEVER, Aloysius: Solicitor; b. October 31, 1859; ed. Roman Catholic school, Brickdam, under Mr. J.L. Theobald, and was assistant teacher there; 1878, headmaster, Pouderoyen Roman Catholic school; signed articles with Mr. W.E. Lewis, barrister-at-law; April 19, 1904, admitted to practice as a solicitor; composer of "Four Kisses" waltz, "King Sugar", "Merry Christmas" carol, a hymn and other music sung at the local celebration of the Jubilee of Emancipation, 1888; framer of the address sent to Queen Victoria on that occasion; from 1898 has acted as examiner in Music at Government Teachers' Certificate Examination; compiler of "Geography of British Guiana, the West Indies and South America", the standard local school book on that subject and one which has passed through several editions.

DeWEEVER, Peter Moses: Schoolmaster, Boys' Industiral School, Ondeeming (ed: probably misspelling of Onderneeming); b. July 31, 1863; ed. Bishop's College, British Guiana; after passing through pupil teachers' course of training under the Longden system, became a student of Bishop's College; 1882, became head teacher of Robb St. (W.) School; 1894, appointed head teacher Onderneeming School; author of "Welcome to Prince George of Wales" (song); "The Christian Army" (march); "Victoria's Diamond Jubilee" (chorus); "Companion to Lucas' Historical Geography"; "Principles of Agriculture".
