To..Marilyn King re: Phoebe dau of Dennis Dunham.
I am desended from one of Phoebe's brothers...Jonathan Donham.
My research shows Dennis to have 8 children including Phoebe and Jonathan (he is only one to carry the last name of Donham) My mother's family are the Donhams desended from Jonathan son of Dennis Dunham.
My records show Phoebe b 1787 and married twice. Her first husband was William Higgins on May 5, 1807 in Warren Co., Kentucky. Her father Dennis gave consent. The marriage was witnessed by Daniel Skaggs. They had the following children: Dorothy Higgins and another unknown. Her second marriage was to Thomas Barnett on June 22, 1812. They had two children: George Harrison Barnett and Dennis Dunham Barnett.
I am searching for the name of Dennis Dunham Sr's wife and mother to my Jonathan Donham and Phoebe and the other 6 Dunham children of Dennis Dunham: John b.1774, Timothy b. 1775, Jonathan Donham b 1781, Effie b. 1782, Hannah b. 1773, Phebe b. 1787, Dorothy b. 1789, Dennis Jr. b 1791. ( I also have info on each of those children)...all I can find for the name of Dennis Sr's wife is Dorothy. Can you help me with this?
I am stuck right here with her name and Dennis Sr' parents...I am at a stand still on my research at this point.
I will be happy to share with you my research on the Dunham/Donham family and would appreciate hearing from you and I am hoping to find the last name of Dorothy.

Denine...I am most anxious to find out more about your Dennis Dunham.
I am decended from the Dennis Dunham and wife Dorothy of around 1750. We do not know Dorothy's maiden name. One of their children was Jonathan Donham, my ancestor.
Please contact me as soon as possible at my email address.
Thanks,
Carolyn

I looked at this board on a lark and am surprised to see my family here! I am descended from Dennis Donham Sr.'s daughter Hannah Donham, who married Daniel Skaggs (although I just found someone who has her married to David Skaggs). Their daughter Emaline Skaggs married Elisha Barnett. When I saw Thomas Barnett in Carolyn's message, I was compelled to reply. All of my data is up on Worldconnect at http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?d....
As to Carolyn's specific question: I have a note from my great-grandfather's brother-in-law which includes his research about their family history. I cannot vouch for the verity of the information, but the letter states that, among other things, "Dennis Donham born Jan 16, 1751 he married Dollie Philips she was born may 27, 1747" and it goes on to list their ten children, but only Hannah's birthdate is listed.
Contact me at Ajramsay@aol.com if you have corrections for me or have more questions. I don't look at this board regularly.
