Surnames: NIELSEN, LUDWIG
Hello,
I am just begining a family tree search. My father was Franklin Peter Nielsen born in 1920 somewhere around Doylestown in Columbia county WI his parents were Leona Ludwig and Carl Nielsen and there my search ends. From what I understand some of the family settled the area around Doylestown so hopefully I can get some help. I would like to follow the Nielsen name further back then just my grandfather. any Help will be greatly appreciated.

Since I don't have alot to work on. I found a Franklin Neilsen born in wisconsin living with mother Leona and step father Edward Greenway in 1930 in Detroit, Michigan. Does this match anything you already have?

Otherwise, if you can please supply Leona and Carl's approx birthdate or age and birthplace. Leona is not a common name and searches on her might find something.

Are there older siblings of Franklin, that might appear on the 1920 census with his parents?

Thank you

Christian Peter Nielsen, the only son of Carl Marius Nielsen & Elsie Kirstine Pedersdatter, was born at Hjorring, Hjorring, Denmark on 8 Oct. 1871. Bapt. at Hjorring on 18 Nov. 1871. Christian had one sister, that I know of, named Johanne Elisabeth Nielsen, born 13 Nov. 1872, bapt. 23 Feb. 1873. Christian Peter Nielsen died 1st Feb. 1917 from pneumonia at the age of 46 years. He was married with Johanne Christine Ericksen on 15 Oct. 1891 (1892?) in Denmark. They first went to Chicago and then Pentwater, MI, Racine WI and finally Beaver Dam. There were three children. One died in Racine at 4 months. Two sons survived: Carl and Niels. Johanna Nielsen, daughter of Niel Erickson, was born in Denmark 26 Dec. 1892. She died at Milwaukee 29th Dec. 1938. She moved to Milawukee about 1919. About a year before she died, she moved to Watertown to be near her son and family. Her son Niels, of Watertown, survived along with 4 grandchildren and 2 brothers, James and Christ.
