Hi! I am currently searching for my Great-Grandmother, Fannie Harrison Owens (Born 1/25/1873 and died in 1969 or 1970. Married Robert Walter Debnam on 8/8/1894) from Powels Point in Currituck County. Her father, to the best of my knowledge, was Alexander Owens (1836-1899) and her mother was Martha Harrison (1844-1921). I am looking to verify the information that I do have and hopefully fill in some blanks and carry the line back a little bit further. This family is a real mystery to me!

Saw your query on the Currituck site and I am aslo researching Owens family name and keep hitting a wall. I am looking for a connection with Jordan Owens who married Penelopy O'Neal on March 21, 1885. I know Jordan's parents names were Joseph and Elizabeth but can't seem to get any other info. I have a book from the Heritage Society in Currituck but can't get a connection there either. I know they lived in the Outer Banks area and at Powells Point at some time. Would love to exchange info with you if we can be of any help to each other. Thanks and looking foreward to hearing from you.Marrion Owens Beers

Hello
I am also trying to research a Harrison who possibly lived in Currituck Co... also seems a mystery to me!! My great grandmother was Georgia Harrison (1876-1937). Her parents were Lovie Simpson (1854-1937, believed to be Cherokee descent) and George W. Harrison (??? Georgia's Obit says he was from Wanchese, NC) Her obit also says that she was a native of Currituck. I dont know if there's any connection, but I share your grief at researching the Harrison family. Im having the same problem with the Simpsons. Georgia was a teacher and lived in Manteo, NC. I'd be glad to share any info with you. Who knows, maybe we're related. :o)

I assume this is Alexander and Martha Harrison Owens!

I am always interested in any Owens information. I would love to have a copy. Have you posted it to the Bible records at the Currituck Co. web site? Here is the link: http://www.ncgenweb.us/currituck/
