I am seeking information on the ancestors and family of Abraham (Abram) BELLAMY born about 1752. I know he resided in Horry County, but am not sure if he was born there. He died 1828 in Jefferson County, FL, where he and several members of his family settled between 1819 and 1827. The name I have found for his wife is Claramond, born about 1757. They had a son John BELLAMY, born Sept. 10, 1776, married Margaret BELL (born Jan. 15, 1777 in Horry Co.), daughter of William and Mary BELL. John and Margaret had 7 children that I know of (all probably born in Horry Co.): 1) Abraham (Abram) b. Aug. 10, 1800, m. Eliza Ann WILLIAMS, 2) William b. Apr. 8 1802, m. Emmala Ann SIMKINS, 3) Elizabeth Mary b. Feb. 27, 1804, m. Gen. William BAILEY, 4) Sarah Matilda A. b. 1808, m. Col. Daniel Elmer BURCH, 5) Maria Theresa b. Jan 1, 1810, 6) Bethel Durant b. Apr. 22, 1812, 7) Lydia b. Feb. 28, 1814.

The children of William and Emmala BELLAMY are: 1)Lucian A., 2) Elizabeth Brooks, 3) Margaret B., 4) Emmala Simkins, 5) William (female).

If anyone has information on the family of Abraham (Abram) BELLAMY, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. I would be happy to share information!

Thanks! Nancy

I have information on the Bellamy family. I have visited the plantation's graveyard in Jefferson Co., FL., which contains more than 50 graves - including my greatgrandfather, Thompson Bird Lamar, who was married to Sarah Bailey. My aunt, Clyde Lamar Raney-Tiele, handwrote a family tree. I have a copy.
What do you have? What do you need?

My folks came from Thomas Co, GA and Jefferson Co, FL. Do you have any information on any of the families listed in Surnames?

No, not in my line, that I know of. Howell is a very prominent name in North Florida - owned turpentine forests, etc. My husband's former law partner is a descendant; sadly, he has dementia. A contact my father had at the U.S. State Department was a Howell from Jacksonville. Pursuing this name should be fairly easy...Also, Jefferson Co. has an Historical Society, which I found very helpful when I wandered in...It is not a densely populated area (remote, until recently), so you should be able to find something out : http://www.co.jefferson.fl.us/history/

I am interested to find out if there was a Sarah Bellamy and a Sarah Bailey also. my understanding is both John Jack Bellamy and Margaret had a daughter name Sarah and that William Baily and Mary Elizabeth(Elizabeth Mary) had a daughter name Sarah that married Mr Lamar (as you have stated). If so can you give me the middle name of each Sarah?
and do you know the name of the plantation of the senior Abraham(Abram) Bellamy?

What I know with certainty: Sarah Burch Bailey, dau. of Gen. William Bailey and his wife, Elizabeth Mary Bellamy, was b. Apr. 02, 1830. Sarah married my great-great-grandfather, Thompson Bird Lamar, (Col., Confederate Army; google him). They were the parents of Mary Elizabeth Lamar, my great-grandmother.
Search "15 Plantations" and you will find both the Bellamy and Bailey Plantations' histories.
If you're interested in plantation life and slavery, read: http://www.questia.com/library/29686/slavery-and-plantation-.... Interesting info on both families.

My grandmother Maria Tiele, was the halfsister of Jacobus Johannes Tiele.
I have done a lot of research about their common father Marinus Johannes Tiele(1841-1926). This M.J.Tiele was a wellknown tobacco-producer, art collector. Etc.
I would love to see the letter of MJ Tiele to his son JJ Tiele.
With kind regards, Joke HvR
