Surnames: Webb, Greer, Crouch
Hi! I am just beginning to help my friend research her line of Webbs and they go back into Franklin County, VA. Her immediate line left Franklin County, Va in the mid 1920's for Roanoke City, VA. They were Jacob H. & Ida S. Webb. Jacob was born: 1879/Franklin County & was the son the Moses G. Webb b: 1843/Franklin County, VA and his spouse was Ava Webb. Moses G. Webb was the son of Robert J. b: 1812-15/Franklin County, VA and his spouse was Catherine "Kitty" (Greer) Webb.

Jacob and Ida left Franklin County for Roanoke and lived at 1108 (now 1210) Penrod S.E. in Roanoke City during the late l920's early 1930's. They were blessed with daughters and no sons, they were: Hazel Virginia, Bessie Katherine, Edna, Jeanette, Jeneva, Rachel. Hazel and Bessie died in Franklin County are buried at Boones Mills Baptist Church Cemetary in Frannklin County, VA.

We are trying to locate Jacobs death date and Ida's, so as we can research out Jeanette and Jeneva and their current locations, if still alive, if not then the desecendents of theirs. They were twins born in l907.

ANy help would be most appreciated! Michelle

Hi Michelle,
After reading your posting concerning Jacob Webb and his ancestors, I'm led to believe that he's probably in the descendant line of Capt. Jacob Webb (b: abt 1722) and married Mary Sally "Molly" Austin. This Jacob Webb lived and died in Franklin Co., Virginia. I have their issue of 9 children posted on my web site, but only have descendant information for two of those nine. You may view that information by going to www.cottagehill.com/familytree and selecting the link for "Descendants of Early Southside Virginia Families".
