Dills Family in Franklin NC

Hi Jenny, My name is Scott Davis, and my family is from Franklin. Actually, it's a section of Franklin called Cartoogeechaye. My Grandmother was born in Franklin. There were 12 kids. The Franklin area is and was loaded with Dills. I live in NC, I don't know if you do or not, but just outside of Franklin is a little town by the name of Dillsboro. I visited my Grandmother today ( she is 90) and remembers a lot of people up there. If you give me names and all the info you can, I will see if she knows anything at all. I find this research a lot of fun. I hope we don't find a bunch of horse thieves in the woodpile. :) Take care and sorry it took so long to find this message board. Scott.

Hi Scott. I actually forgot about this message I had posted it has been so long ago. My Grandfather was the late Clifford Dills. He had brothers and a sister. I will find out his parents names, etc and see if your grandmother can help me learn about my family living there in Franklin. I didn't realize there were so many Dills in that area. Thanks for the response! I currently do not live up there. My mother lives in Hayesville. I went to high school there and now live in Florida. I will find out more and let you know. Thanks again!

Jenny

it looks like everyone is chasing the same bunch of rabbits. i have read all the postings of jackie, jenny, scott, carol, suzianne, and have corresponed with tr. i intend to shortly try to correspond with jackie. since we all seem to be of kindred flesh, i suggest that we contact each other by e-mail and share the reems of paper that we have compiled by land service of fax. i will share with any of you who would desire to do the same. my e-mail is: marehead@gte.com. i and a cousin in fla.(not jenny)but emily, are working in conjunction with each other and perhaps have found the first wife of the four wives our amorous ancester, bartlett jasper dills,jr. married. my count of offsping has reached 7. as any of you correspond with the others, please feel free to offer them my e-mail address. our connection with the dills line is the marriage of lawson fisher b.6/30/1828,d.11/09/1926.married elizabeth dills b.4/28/1830,d.6/30/1885(daughter of bartlett dills,jr.). this fisher line is from fisher creek, jackson co.,n.c. and as some of you are from the haywood, jackson, and macon area, you may recall the mayor for decades of hazlewood was clyde (dutch) fisher and his daughter, mary ann fisher enloe was also mayor for a time. most us though have left the area but still return to visit those that have stayed.
