"Julia Schriner. wife of George Schriner, died last evening at 5:30 at the

residence of Randall Sellers and family, southwest of Bremen, from the

effects of concussion of the brain caused by a fal she suffered a few days

ago. She had been an invalid for ten years or more, and for the past two

years had been able to help herself but little. Both she and her husband

made their home with the Randall Sellers and family, Mrs. Sellers being a

daughter. The Funeral will be held Sunday, leaving the residence at 10

o'clock for Riverside Church.

Mrs. Schriner was born in PA, but has lived in this vicinity for half a

century or more. In addition to the daughter, Mrs. Sellers, a son, John

Walterhouse of the same neighborhood, survives the mother. Mrs. Schriner

would have been 87 years old in Feb.

Michael Jr.'s Obituary - in the 17 Nov 1898 paper (Thursday)

"Michael BLUE was found dead Wednesday evening in the barn of his

brother-in-law, George Schriner, four miles southwest of Bremen. His death

is supposed to have resulted from heart trouble, as that afternoon he was

around and in apparently good health, and had been to Bremen the day before

to vote at the election. He was about 70 yrs. old, and worked around in the

county whereever he could secure a days labor. He had no home in

particular, but stopped some of the time with his brother-in-law, Mr.

Schriner. Coroner Sarber, of Argos, came Thursday morning and held an

inquest. The funeral was held yesterday at the Ewald school house."

Additional information, Source, 4/2001 Ruth Feltz:

Julia and Isaac Thomas were living next door to Silas & Sarah (Blue) HOWARD in 1860.

Isaac's occupation was miller. He owned $200 Real Estate & $60 per.prop.

Apparently Isaac had been married before as there were 2 children living

with them that were not Julia's. (Henry, age 12, b.~1848; and Isaac, Jr. age

8, b.~1852) Isaac & Julia's child, Elizabeth was 7mo old.

George was Julia's 5th husband. They were married sometime before the 1880

census, because we found them in that census, with the last 3 children

living with them. Julia and George SHRINER were living with her daughter,

Mrs. Randall SELLERS at the time of their deaths, and she was the only

surviving daughter in 1915.
