Surnames: JAQUESS JAQUES UNDERWOOD KITTERMAN
The James JAQUESS I have is actually James Oscar JAQUES (note the name spelling.) He was born in 1889 to William Nathaniel and Sarah (ELLIS LEMASTER) JAQUESS but changed the surname along with his older brother, Millard. He went by the name Oscar JAQUES and married twice (or thrice, actually, but twice to one woman). His wives were Thelma B. KITTERMAN and Fleeta (or Fleta?) UNDERWOOD. I believe it was Thelma that he remarried. He was born in Monett, Barry county, MO, moved to San Bernardino county California, and then returned to Barry county where he died in the 1960's in the town of Monett MO.

Hope this helps.

Sylvia

Rebecca, are you connected to the Jaquess of Oneonta AL.?
Cause on Albert L. Jaquess Obituary it listed a Lige Jaquess as his Brother still living ,that was 1950. Alberts father was listed as Jim Jaquess. and on his death cert. his mother was listed as D.K. (maybe don't know). Albert's son Marcus Jaquess gave the info.I have a 1900 census record shows, they came from east Tnn. and had 4 children in Tenn. rest was born in Al. Albert married Emily Harriet Mathis. now the cuz's spells it" Mathews". if any of this connects with you, I would like to share more. I would pay for any copies or info. do you know if there was any books written on these Jaquess? or how to connect Albert. he and Hattie was my grand parents, I have all their kids and dates, and some grand & great grand kids. thank you , here is my e-mail patfouts@otelco.net
