I married into the Simmang family. My husband is originally from Houston and we have been told that the family name of course has changed spelling over the years. My father in law is Milton E Simmang. So far that is all the info I have. I am just now starting to trace our ancestors and any information on the Simmang family would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

I just met an Attorney who works for Zisman Law Firm in Dallas. His name is James Simmang. He told me his father and siblings are from a long line of Attorneys from the Austin Area.
Perhaps you could contact him or them

Hi, my name is Sherry Simmang and I married into the Simmang family 13 years ago. My father-in-law is John W. Simmang Sr. My husband is one of four sons born of John and Maxine Simmang. We live in San Antonio, TX and there are about 20 in our "immediate" family. I'd be glad to share the information with you if this is something you are looking for. Also, my father-in-law created a family tree many years back that is quite interesting and contains many "branches." Let me know if I can help you with your research.
Best Wishes....Sherry Simmang

Hello,
My g-g-greatgrand father was Johann A. Simmang who is buried ar St.Paul, Serbin, Texas. His daughter Maria married Johann Gottlieb Neitsch of the "Ben Nevis". Recently I learned that Johann Simmang's ancestry is likely incorrect. He was probably born 10-1-1796 instead of 1-28-1794, thus his father was not Andreas Symmank born 8-28-1760 in Malschwitz as believed. Johann also had a son Andreas born 8-26-1815 in Weicha. It is thought that his widow Johanna Rudolph and their children settled in Texas. I would like to contact any cousins who might be able to shed light on this situation and perhaps establish who are Simmangs as opposed to Symmanks....many of which I know or have contact with. I may have had contact with your father-in-law (and Robin)years ago. I would appreciate any info/leads. Thanks. C.B. Neitsch

Hello. I am sorry that I have not responded sooner. I have not had access to the internet for awhile. In regards to family history, my brother-in-law, John William Simmang II would probably be your best resource. His e-mail address is JWSimmang@aol.com. He has contact with many of our relatives and he might be able to help you in your search.
Best Wishes....Sherry Simmang

I'm updating some Simmang history for our family. If you are still interested please email me and we can discuss. I am working off documentation form E. T. Simmang. Thank you, Susan Schrade
