I am going to go out on a limb a little and say that I don't think that the Polifkas that you are looking for were in Raton in 1910, with the exception of the Leo that you mentioned.
Perhaps they were once in Raton but left for Watsonville CA
at some point? That would make perfect sense because many "Austrian" citizens settled there. However, it might pay to check the Baptisms from St Patrick in Raton. LDS Film

Karl L. Polifka was born 01 Dec 1910, died 01 July 1951, Graduated Watsonville High in 1929. I don't know where he was born - do you?

Hello again! Watsonville High School is in Watsonville, Santa Cruz County, California. Its about half way between Monterey and Santa Cruz...

Karl L. P. and his younger brother Frank J.F. P. (my Dad) were born in Palacios, Texas after the family moved from Raton, NM and before they moved on to Wastonville, Santa Cruz County, California. Leo was the first born, followed by Helen and Joseph - they were born in Raton, NM. Their parents were Charles and Paulina (Karlin) Polifka who moved to Raton with his parents, Franz and Anna Polifka.

His parents were neighbors of my great-grandparents, Hermine and Wilhelm Henrik Schroeder. They were friends in New Mexico and previously in Kansas. Later each family purchased land in Watsonville Ca. The Polifka's retained mineral rights and oil was found on the Blessings Tx land.
