Andrew,

Are you running Family Tree Maker As Administrator?

Did you download the Vista Patch?

Is your PC a 32 bit PC or a 64 bit PC?

What happens when you try to run Family Tree Maker?

Hi Russ,
No I didn't even know there was an administrator in FTM.
I didn't know to download the vista patch
It is a 64 bit PC
At First I went into the programme, tried to export a report as a PDF file the programme then said that Family Tree maker Executable had found a problem and would check if windows had a solution, then it closed the programme. Now I can't even open the programme, it just says there is a problem and closes.

Thanks,

Penny

Andrews,

Administrator is a Vista Feature not Family Tree Maker.

Version 16 will NOT run, completely, on a 64 bit PC. The specific area is generating a PDF file.

You can download a free PDF Generator and use it as the printer.

The Vista Patch is on the Help, Online Help Center.

Hi Russ,

I am afraid nothing has worked. We are going to try and get used to Family Tree Maker 2009, which my wife Penny hates but she will have to get used to it.
Thanks for all your help,
Andrew
