Karen J Hinds:

Came across your post today. I am trying to trace my great
grandfathers family Herman Petznick who came to the US in 1875 age 21 years. Would be very interested in exchanging information on the Petznick line.

ps tried to email you directly but your email address failed

This Petznick has only one spelling that I know of. Family is of Arnswalde district of Neu Mark, an area of Brandenburg, Germany a part of Prussia and now Poland.

Surnames: Petznick (Paetznick) (Patsnick) and a few other misspellings that I have found.
I have spent quite a bit of time researching my Petznick line and found 4 immigrant groups of Petznick family all from Kranzin or Schönfeld, Neumark, Arnswalde, Brandenburg.

Not sure if they are all closely related but all Four groups originally arrived in Wisconsin from 1863 to early 1870's. Willing to share with anyone else that would like to do more on this or double team research. I also have done DNA and at this level it should show up if there are any matches between these families. The birth dates of these oldest of immigrants range from 1805 - 1832 - There is also a mother of one of these immigrants who was born 1786 and died between 1870-1880. No immigration records could be found for her.
