I'm trying to find any connections to my grandfather Alfred Quesnel.

Alfred is believed to have been born Hull, Quebec. Possibly around 1888.

Alfred was also known as a terrific fiddle player and was a prospector. He married Donalda Demers. During the 1930's Alfred and Donalda moved for a brief time to Callander, ON, before moving back to ELK Lake, ON. Both are buried in the Elk Lake Cemetery. Alfred died in 1961.

Their daughter Alma Quesnel (born in Callander) married Paul LaFreniere in Elk Lake, ON. Alma and Paul are my parents.

If anyone has any information at all on Alfred Quesnel I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.

We have no idea what Alfred (Fred) Quesnel's parents names were. At this point we are not even sure where exactly he was born. We know he was a terrific fiddle player who prospected for gold. We also know he never discussed his family.

Some members of the family spell Quesnel as Quesnell. I believe the latter is actually the correct one.

Recently I was given information from a great uncles baptism certificate stating that Demers was spelt Demerse. Francis Demerse was my great grandfather. One of his children is Marie Joseph Demerse born 1893 in Tupperlake NY.

I have Parents as Pierre Quesnel and Elmier Fournier.
Not sure about this info as i am working on another tree at this time.

As per book Les Quesnel de Albert Quesnel 1488-1983 pages 48, 75, 76 & 77.
Copy of church marriage register page 76 of the book Les Quesnel de Albert Quesnel 1488-1983.
He was 80 years old at his death.

Pierre was married Aug 18 1862 in St André-Avelin, RCM Papineau, Outaouais Region, QC, Canada at St André Roman Catholic Church.
Elmire was also AKA as Edmire, Emélie and Valmire. Her parents were Joseph Fournier and Angélique Bruyère.

Pieree Quesnel was son of Jean Noël Quesnel married to Apoline Corinne Sabourin AKA Hipolyte Nov. 13 1826 At Rigaud, RCM Vaudreuil-Solanges, Montérégie Region, QC, Canada, Ste Madeleine Roman Catholic Church.
