Dee, I am not sure, English or Greman, but what is it you call "Klee's"? Is that a family name? All I have to go on is a Mary M. Clay[Jun 4, 1778-Oct 28,1963], married to a Jonas "James" Miller[1784-1878]. I know they lived in Ohio and they had a child named Mary M. Miller b.Mar 14, 1828 d. Oct 28, 1963. Well I have a little more than that but nothing that would help on Mary Clay. Thanks in advance for the help.

Many of the Ohio Clays descended from Johann Nicholas Klee/Clay. But I also know that some of the English branch
was in Ohio too. Mike Miliken's World Connect Page
documents Johann's family fairly well. But unfortunately
I had a major computer crash and lost address. I haven't
done Clay's for awhile, and I know message boards
have been switched around-- but I also found quite a bit-
I believe under the Clay message board at rootsweb?
We are taking off, and things are a little hectic--but if
you don't have any success, let me know-- I think I backed
up some addresses last summer-- and I can do some more
searching. Let me know. D

I am so excited for you. Johann Nicholas Klee came in
through the port of Philadelphia on the Loyal Judith in 1739 and had like 13 children.
I am so frustrated that I have lost so much info. They
settled in Berks, Co. Pa. I am wondering where you
fit in the next generation-- I spent months on the next
step. Although I thought we fit in this branch, and I
kinda think you do to. My e-mail address is ddz711@ If you want to write. I descend from Johann
Nicholas Klee son John. A cousin sent a land deed where
the lawyer called them Clay in the document, but they
signed it Klee. I love happy news. D

Do you happen to know if Johann Nicholas Klee, ws related to Johann Bertrum Clay who came to Philadelphia on the Samuel & Elizabeth 1740, origin of was Rotterdam. With him was his son Johann Wilhelm Clay. I am trying to determine the link if there is one between Johna Nicholas Klee/Clay and Isaac Klee/Clay and Solomon B. Clay.

Some of the Klee/Clay families migrated to SSE Missouri in the early 1800's, perhaps your family was amongst them?

Sure would love to hear from anyone who might be connected to them.
