Ann Agnew & Family (James, John & Matthew) living in Housatonic MA 1868-1880

Classification: Query
Surnames: Agnew & Costello
I am searching for my great-great grandmother's Ann boylan Agnew'stravel after she applied for Civil War pension for her husband Felix Agnew who died in POW camp in either SC or
VA 21 Apr 1865. She applied for war pension 27 July 1865. It was approved by Army Washington Dc in 1867 while Ann still lived in Rossie, St Lawrence Co.NY. In 1868 she sold her place and started traveling believe she headed for Housatanic MA. The timeframe 1868-1879 For Ann & family is missing. Don't know how long she stayed in Housatonic MA.
But one of her son's John must have met his future wife Nellie Ellen Costello who was born in West Stockbridge MA.
She was living in Great Barrington, MA.
Ann & family must have moved to Waterbury CT before 1880 as she and family are found in Connecticut US 1880 Federal Census.

In MA marriages of Great Barrington, Berkshire Co. MA of 24 August 1882 lists John Agnew - Nellie Ellen Costello married @ Great Barrington, MA by Catholic priest. Doesn't give name of Catholic Church.

So,I am trying to fill void of Ann Agnew & Family between 1868 to 1879. Any assistance or guidance will be greatly
appreciated.

I assume you see them in the 1870 Federal Census? The family is living in Great Barrington. It's a little tricky because the ancestry index has their last name as "Agnes". I'll send in a correction for that. Also, Ann's name is listed as "Kate" but, clearly Arthur, John and James are there with the correct ages.

Max Yes, I saw them in 1870 US census. One thing I have seen in my genealogy search since 1998 of my ancestors is a variation of the spellings of Agnew. It has been from Aguerg, Agnea, Agnue, Agnes, and etc. thanks again and appreciate any info on Felix Agnew his wife Ann Boylan Agnew, James, John (my grandpa) and Matthew. They moved about from Norfolk, CT to Rossie, St. Lawrence Co. NY and when Felix was in CW & captured and died in POW camp in SC.
Ann stayed in Rossie, NY until 1868 when she moved to MA. and than moved to Waterbury, CT in 1880. John my grandpa
married Nellie Ellen Costello in Great Barrington, MA 24 Aug 1882. John and Ellen then went back to Waterbury, Ct
where he worked in lumber. Again thanks and God Bless!
