Looking for information about James Edward Herring married to Margaret Pridgeon Loving. One son moved to S. C then Ga. and then Florida around 1900 and changed his name to William Henry Hearring. Other son was named John James Herring who came to S.C., and then Georgia. Thanks!

My James is much older. He was born around 1814 and was married to Margaret Pridgeon. He had a couple of sons names John James and William Henry. Do these sound familiar?

Carolyn,

I don't know if my James has any or not. I'm kind of going on a hunch that that's even his name. I know that my ggg grandfather was John Herring b. 1784 in SC. He named his first son, "James", so I'm assuming that is probably his father's (my gggg grandfather's) name. Have found a James Herring on some SC census. Just trying to tie it all together.

Any help...very much appreciated.
