Wayne,
I am from the Line of Abel Gale And Dinah thru his son, David Gale b. 1685/6 in Jamaica, Long Island, New York. David Gale and his older brother Samuel left Jamaica, Long Island, New York some time after 1700 and settled in the area of New Jersey known as Little Egg Harbour in Burlington County. David and Samuel began purchasing land around this area. David Gale first married ? and had a daughter he named Dinah Gale, b. abt.1714/5, she died in 1748, around the same time as her father. David was also the father of three sons named Abel Gale b. 1717/8 , Jacob Gale b. 1720, he was violently murdered in 1762. Cornelius Gale b. 1722/3 died 1794. My family line is as follows;
1. Abel Gale b. abt 1632 d. 1720
2. David Gale b. abt. 1685/6 d. 1748
3. Cornelius Gale b. abt. 1722/3 d. 1794
4. James Gale b. 1750 d. after 1835
5. John Gale b. 7 Oct. 1785 d. after 1860
6. George Lewis Gale b. 22 Dec. 1828 d. 8 April 1900
7. Fountain Gale b. 14 Oct. 1872 d. 12 Dec. 1966
8. George Lewis Gale b. 29 Dec. 1910 d. 25 Nov. 1966
9. Living Gale
10. Living Gale

I am very interested in any info regarding my Gale Ancestry also. This is just the tip of the iceburg info wise, I will be glad to exchange notes regarding this Gale Family Line, if you are interested.

I am looking for information on the family of my ancestor Margaret Gale supposedly born in 1762 in Wallkill, Orange County/Ulster, New York who married Samuel Bull in 1787. I believe she was descended from the Long Island Gale family and may have been the daughter of Hezekiah Gale, one of the early settlers at Wallkill. Their son Benjamin Bull married Marie Roe, also descended from a Long Island family. I have a lot of information on the Bulls and the Roes but I am struggling with the Gales. Do you have any information on this family?

The families I am looking for are British born. Mary Bull 1807-1879 was my great grandmother. I have been unable to find any of her family. She was married to Lot Roe 1813-1878 and lived all their lives in England. I think in the Somerset area.
Could we be seeking the same people?
Appreciate hearing from you.

It is interesting that you also have a Bull/Roe marriage, but as far as I know mine lived in New York and had no connections with family in England.

Wayne, no I have nothing for Griffin Gale. Do you have any date or era on that line? I am finding some links, but not sure how to catalog each line. I'm using Family Tree Maker, but cannot run back up to save on a Travel Drive. I'm quite new to this type of search. I'm using Familysearch.org and Ancestry.com for my main searches, also a site that has given me Cemeteries that someone has catalogued and listed tombstones and inscriptions for northern NY state.

Greetings Jean,

Like Wayne, I am descended from Griffin Gale, who could be descended from Abel but there is no direct evidence yet.

I'm interested to hear you descend from Bartholomew. Do you know of any evidence to connect Bartholomew and Abel?

(Side note: as a direct male descendant of Griffin I would love to do a DNA match sometime to anyone from Edmund's or Abel's lines)
