Looking for info on FLOBERG, Charles E. b1867 Sweden, m.KLOKSTEN, A. Martha Kathinca Rosamine b.1866 Trondhjem, Norway. They were m 1886 in Moorehead but moved to Brainerd by 1887 where 4 of their 5 children were born. Am trying to find naturalization records as I haven't been able to find them on passenger lists. Charles had a brother with him, Andrew who m. OLSON, Nellie Messenlien (Pernelke) (2nd wife). All eventually moved to Wash. state. Other known brothers and sisters of Charles are Mary FORSBERG, Ulrika STAAKE, Christine MAHOOD, and Edward. I don't think they ever left Brainerd. Would appreciate any information at all. Continuing an ongoing search for family, I have found and spoken to Linda Anderson. We will keep searching for other relatives. Charles & Andrew Floberg moved from MN to Tacoma, WA. We are also looking for decendants of Ulrika (Floberg) Staake. Known children include Beda Marie (Staake) Larson of Puyallup, WA, Olga Staake, Hugo Staake and Hildegard (Staake) Haag (of Austin, TX).

Linda - I'm looking for any info on Rev. J.H.Messenlien who married my distant cousin Sylvia Kraby Strande. She died in CA in 1959. Had a daughter Irene. Who was Howard Messenlien? Love to hear from you - Greta.

Okay...I have never seen another Messenlien before. My great great grandmother was Pernille (Nelly) Messenlien Olsen Floberg, and came from Lillehammer, Norway. The family farm is Mesnalia, and they were Lutheran. She came to Norway Lake Minnesota, and married the widowed Andrew Magnus Floberg who had four daughters. She had one son, Olaf Albert. They had twelve more children together. They came from Fargo/Moorehead to Puyallup, Washington in 1903, and are buried at Tacoma's Oakwood cemetary. Email me for details, I also have pictures. Related names are Silberg,Forsberg, Floberg, Zelinsky, Michal, Hill, Simpson, Ansell,Clawson, Hammond,Griffith,Hedron,Hopper,Staake,Larson,Olsen,Sommerville,Bendixen,and many more,I mean, goodness...17 kids:)

I know of Hugo Staake, who was born in the early 1920s, and grew up in Tacoma, Washington. I know his son. He also had 2 daughters. I also know of Hugo's parents Hugo and Blanche.
