I can't help you any farther back. I got my info from your brother Jim. I am descended from your Aunt Maude and Frank Ayres Sr. I've been to Kent County many times. Just wanted to say" Hi cousin"

The only additional info I have is more children...
Some trees have immigration as 1853, but that makes no sense as he is in PA in the 1850 census - Perhaps 1853 was naturalization date...

He is my ancestor thru Eliza Ivens marriage to Parsons...

My grandfather lives in Chestertown, MD but I'm a couple hours away.

I'm going to see if I can swing down therer this summer to take a look at the gravestone - if I take a pic do you want a copy?

Julie

My wife is descended from Eliza Ivens who married Thomas J. Parsons. We have some information, including some pictures, but do not have any inforamtion about them in England. We would be happy to share what we do have.

I did find this at Ancestry.com:
Based on the below form the index it would appear that James William Ivens married Mary Ann Sheakespeare in 1843, in Kings Norton District, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, England (don't have subscription to this Ancestry.com service so can't view details):

It appears that the 1853 date was for naturalization, not immigration:

The 1870 census for Kent County, MD, shows son James as 22 and born in England and daughter Bessie (Eliza) as 17 and born in Pennsylvania. Immigration must have occurred between the births of these two.

My wife still has family in Chestertown and visits there quite often. We have never been able to locate the gravestone for James William Ivens. We would appreciate it if you could give us a location (his wife is said to be buried in Chester Cemetery, wgich is in Chestertown I believe).

Arly,
My records indicate he filed a declaration of intention 1853, and immigrated 1847 to 1849, but I'm having difficulty citing my sources. Additionally I'm trying to figure out if I KNOW where he's buried or if I was making an educated guess, as I never went and took that picture I meant to. I've stepped back from the geaneology for a few months.. I also have the marriage to Mary Shakespeare sometime bef 1845 in England.

BTW this is Julie - Buddy's granddaughter.:) Hey. I understand the reunion will be in June next year, hope to see you there.

Hi Russ? We talked a while back about the Parsons. I am descended from Maude Parsons and Frank Ayres. I have James and Mary Ivens buried in Chester Cemetery. Thomas Parson's mother is buried in Still Pond. I didn't make it to the Chester Cemetery,so I can't say for sure that they are there. I found Thomas Parsons and Eliza Ivens Parsons in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
