Pryces/ Eastside Cemetery in Lake Charles

Pryces/ Eastside Cemetery in Lake Charles

Surnames: Duhon/Granger/Cloud
Two weeks ago, my cousin and I had the lofty idea to read the headstones at the Pryces/Easide Cemetery
This cemetery is located at the corner of Goss and Carter next to City/Paupers on Broad and Goss. Although, the grass is now cut we still had to wade through water. We were only able to read three rows before the heat and mosquitos drove us away. We did locate my granfather, Joseph Alexander Duhon and his brother, John L Cloud. I will post the other names we were able to record. This cemetery is in deplorable condition. Many broken graves, under water and some of the remaines exposed. We needed more manpower as the reading needs to be done when the sun is the highest, which is the hottest time

This is one of the unknown graves in Pryces/Eastside Cemetery. It is a picture of a grave that has been vandalized. The human remains are exposed. this is from the video I took on my trip there last summer.
