I know my ratings are going to take a bad hit when the reviewers start reviewing this project.
There is a slot for Birthplace, and one for Residence City. So far I have seen only one case where the word "born" is listed, so I am making all the rest "Residence City".
I know from my personal family trees that the place where a person is born is not always their residence in later days.
So, I am prepared for the drop in accuracy, but the difference between birthplace and residence city is not defined in the instructions, other than having the word "born" in their press releases.

Sounds to me as though you are doing it correctly. If you look at the keying image samples on the wiki page, the only place names marked as birth place are ones which say "born".
