1. JOCOB (JOSEPH) B. JOHN1 SNYDER was born Abt. 1824 in Cambria Co., PA, and died April 29, 1879 in Lilly Pa., Cambria Co., Pa. He married MARGARET JANE ALLISON Abt. 1867 in East Conemaugh, Cambria Co., Pa,, daughter of JOHN ALLISON and MARY 0.

Jacob was married before no name givin, The following children were by his first wife: Christian, Martha, Francis.

Notes for Jacob (Joseph) B. Snyder: In the 1870 Census of Franklin Borough, Jacob's step-children were living in the household.. The parents names were J.B. for Jacob and M. Jane for Margaret Jane, It is curious that in Philip's obiturary, it lists his father as "John" but in Margaret Jane's it is listed as "Joseph", but in his own obituary, it is "Jacob".

Jacob has a stone in Headricks Union Cemetery, a column type stone, on the base it reads "Snyder," however the column part of the stone is completely deteriorated and unreadable.

Jacob's estimated age is consistent wit the age given in his obituary and in the 1870 census.

2. MARTHA ELIZABETH2 SNYDER (JOCOB (JOSEPH) B. JOHN1) was born August 16, 1863 in Franklin Borough, Cambria Co., PA, and died February 19, 1915 in Washington Twp. Cambria, Co., PA. She married ALEXANDER PAUL GEORGE Abt. 1879 in Cambria Co. PA., son of ALBERT GEORGE and CATHARINE SAYLOR.

Notes for ALEXANDER PAUL GEORGE:
There is no headstone for Alex. His estate recorded in Cambria County Couthouse, #15454. Middle names fo Alexander and Martha were obtained from their children's marrage licenses. There is no marriage License for Alex since the county didn't start recording them until 1885. In his obituary, he says that he is the son of Albert.

They were a total of 13 children according to an obituary of one of the children, and according to the 1910 Census, 13 children were born to Alex and Martha and of the time of the census, 13 were still living. They claimed to have been married for 31 years in that census.

In the 1880 Census of Washington Twp., Alex's mother-in-law (widowed) and several of her children are living with Alex.

Funeral Sunday Afternoon at Lilly M.E. Church Relatives on Conemaugh

LILLY: October 16, Alex George aged about 65 years a native of Lilly and one of the best-known residents of the community, died of a complication of diseases yesterday at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Swires, of Cassandra.
Funeral services will be held at 2 0'clock Sunday afternoon in the Lilly Methodist Episcopal Church, conducted by the Rev. A. R. Groves, Pastor. The deceased will be laid to rest in the Lillydell Cemetery alongside his wife, who passed away 15 years ago. Undertaker John E. Lowery will have charge of the funeral.
Mr. George had spent most of his life in Lilly. Since the death of his wife he made his home among his children. The deceased was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert George;
The following children survive: Albert George of Conemaugh: Earl George of Portage, Samuel George, of Conemaugh; Blair Reuben George of Juniata; Milton George, of Conemaugh; Mrs. Joseph Swires, of Cassandra; Mrs. Lavina Lingerfelt, of Conemaugh; Mrs. Cora Knepper of St. Michaels; Mrs. Nora Beach of Pittsburg; Mrs. Goldie Whip of Conemaugh, and Mrs. Mildred Knepper of Midland. He is also leaves three sisters, Mrs. Nora Leap, Mrs. Willliam Beck and Mrs. Sherman Allen, all of Lilly, Thirty-six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive.

Nora George (born May 1861; died 1942) was married to Martin Clarence Leap (born Oct 1859; died 16 Aug 1925). Martin was my great grandfather's brother. My grand was John Andrew leap. They were from Lilly, PA
