Sinopoli and Massacani families

Sinopoli and Massacani families

Surnames: Sinopoli, Massacani, Polera
I'm looking for any information anyone has about the Sinopoli or Massacani families of Berkshire county (specifically Pittsfield).

I've never known any of the Sinopolis other than my father and uncle, and they know just as much as I do. Through some research, I found some type of funeral home announcement for a Joseph Frank Sinopoli who died in 2005, who I believe was my Great Grandfather, and his wife Rita Massacani is or was my Great Grandmother.
With this, I was able to trace the Sinopolis back to my Great Great Great Grandparents, Guiseppe Sinopoli and Maria Polera who came from San Vito sullo Iónio, Calabria, Italy. As for the Massacanis, I found nothing.

If anyone here has any information on these families, such as any family trees or photos, anything at all, I would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you!

I searched NEHGS for both surnames. There were no hits on Massacani. There was a marriage on Nov. 29, 1907 between Guiseppe Sinopoli and Maria Sinopoli. This was recorded in Providence, RI.

I also searched the 1841-1910 database. Again, nothing for Massacani. There were 18 hits on Sinopoli. Here is the list. The entries are: Given, town, year of event, volume, page and type.

Anna Boston 1900 503 103 Marriage

The names are well known here in the Berkshires.
It turns out that I know Rita's nephew. I contacted him and he would be happy to give you what he knows only he is not on the list.
If you contact me, I will send him your email for correspondence.

I think the Sinopoli you are looking for was my Uncle Joe who we called "Pep". I believe he died around 2005. His wife's name was Rita (she is still alive). His brother was my father ,Vito, also known as Jack. They were from a family of 11, 4 boys, 7 girls. My grandfather's name was also Vito who was from Calabria, Italy.

Some of those Massacani's have a different spelling with their last name being Massaconi. Many from Cheshire and now Adams.
