Elvira Moore, born 1825-1828 in Tennessee, married Issac Graves 16 November 1842 in Bibb County Alabama. I feel sure that she is a daughter of Phoeba McElroy and Aaron Moore.

1830 Lincoln Co, TN Aaron Moore--2 females b-1825-1830

1840 Bibb Co AL Aaron Moore--2 females b-1825-1830

1850 Bibb Co AL, p13B, #164 Isaac Graves, Elvira (Moore) age 22, b TN

1860 Bibb Co AL, p691 #299 Thomas Creel, Kissiah (Moore), #300 Isaac Graves, Elvira (Moore), age31, b AL, #304 Joshua Moore, son of Phoeba and Aaron

1866 Bibb Co Al State Census, Schedule 1, p? line #14 Aaron Moore, 1 male 60-70, 1 female 60-70, line #15 Elvira (Moore) Graves --soldiers died of sickness…1….. Elvira Moore Graves's husband, Isaac died 1862 of disease

1870 Have not found Elvira Moore Graves on Census

1880 Bibb Co AL, p42, line 21 Elzy Fikes (Sallie(Sarah Moore, daughter of Phoeba and Aaron), four families away on line 40--Elvira (Moore) Graves, age 52, b TN, father and mother b SC

1900 Bibb Co AL, ED3, sheet 5, line 3 Elvira Graves, born January 1825, age 75, b TN, father b SC, mother b TN

Elvira Moore named her first daughter, Phoeba Jane and another daughter, Kisiah.

Does anyone have any records showing that Elvira Moore is the daughter of Phoeba McElroy and Aaron Moore? Is the above data considered enough preponderance of evidence to list Elvira Moore as a child of Phoeba McElroy and Aaron Moore and granddaughter of William McElroy and Kiziah?
Thanks, Linda

Lisa , I think your SARAH "SALLIE" MOORE that m. MATTHEW FULGHAM was the daughter of Jonathan Moore and Mary Anne King. Their son, NEEDHAM MOORE, b. Abt. 1835; m. MARY ANN FULGHAM, 28 October 1858, Bibb County Alabama. Jonathan and Annie King Moore were my great great grandparents.

JONATHAN MOORE was born 1811 in South Carolina and died July 1895. He married MARY ANN "ANNIE" KING Abt. 1831 in Lincoln County Tennessee. She was born 1812 in North Carolina, and died December 1893.

Richard Hill married Nancy Moore. Richard died before 3 Oct 1825. Bibb County records indicate he had 3 minor children: Bodeica Ann Hill, Ionia Hill, and Fannie (Frances Eliza) Hill. A James Moore was appointed as guardian of these children ca Oct 1825.

Bodecia subsequently married Joseph Woodruff in Bibb County AL (2 May 1840)

Ionia married John C. Hinds in Bibb County AL (10 Aug 1836)

Frances Eliza (Fannie) married Ransom McElroy.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Lisa...Needham Moore was my great-great grandfather. His son, David Needham Moore was married to Susan Arizona LaGrone (she was born in 1873, I believe--I am writing from memory) in Harrison County (near Marshall), Texas. Their son George Belton Moore was my grandfather. I am interested in the information you may obtain on Needham Moore and his ancestors, etc. May we communicate? I will also email the lady who wrote you about Needham Moore's ancestors. Thanks...Leigh Hughes, LaMesa, CA...writing from Longview, TX 10/6/99
